Which piece in your gallery is your favorite and why?

The Me You Love in the Dark #1 cover by Zu Orzu. I am a big fan of Zu'z mixed media work, there are so textures and sparkle that can only be appreciated in person. This piece stuck out to me as it had the iconic face that Zu portrays in her images; a simple facial expression but filled with emotion from the piece. I loved the branching patterns reflecting bronchi and the movement in the background that Zu incorporated. An overall lovely piece which fit the vibe of the story perfectly.

Please tell us a little about yourself.

I am a collector from down in Australia. Being a recent father to two young kids I currently have a smaller budget then I'd like but that hasn't stopped me from obtaining sme amazing pieces the past few years. There is always a piece for any budget! I am mainly a DC fan but also been picking up a few more Image and Boom titles recently. I'll be slowly updating my CAF gallery with my collection. Along with comics I am a fan of rock / punk music.

How long have you been collecting comic art and what prompted you to start?

I went to a con during 2022 and got my first blank cover commission done. I loved the piece and started to explore commission work that other people had done. From there I fell in love with the art side of comics and started collecitng both commissions and published work. These days I mainly collect modern comic art but do occassionaly pick up an older piece that catches my interest.

How do you display/store your collection at home?

Some pieces are framed and others are in portfolios. I initially framed things I purchased, then I ended up with a few too many pieces so I have moved over to display folios. I do love selecting out frames and working on displays for special pieces of art though (The final framed piece of the featured art is in my gallery as a secondary image, it sits in a bookcase and I very much enjoyed working on the arrangement).
