DescriptionA sketch of Christopher Reeve as Superman by Nick Cardy, 1977. In an interview included in TwoMorrow's The Krypton Companion (https://bit.ly/3gfU1TX), Cardy said he did "hundreds" of pencil layouts for Superman: The Movie, including sketches of actors Gene Hackman and Trevor Howard. One of the sketches, with Superman pointing skyward, was re-created in a promotional photo and DC Comics house ads. Cardy said the studio kept all but "three or four" of the sketches. |

Nick worked on a lot of movies after he left comics. He did some posters but also plenty of work behind the scenes. I wish he documented it more. Posted on 7/22/2025 |
