Ha. Ya know, the last quality doesn't preclude any of the previous...
Agreed! I think Budd and Royce may play around with digitally coloring this one.
Amazing piece! A best of the best of Budd!
That's the thing that blew my mind. Hanther was a fairly local artist. He worked for Marvel for a couple years in the early 70s, then he decided (under the advice of Roy Thomas) to go into independent pubishing.
He created Tandra and first introduced it in a sort of fanzine publication called Critter in 1973. Those ran for a while before he published some large mag size graphic novels and a run of Dragonrok comics. In the mid-90s, he was one of the first to go to online publishing.
The quality of his line-work is, to me, among some of the best I've seen, but his name just hasn't caught yet.
I owned that original unfinished piece. Letting it go was one of my more regrettable decisions.
Thanks, Bryan. I'm really proud of these interior pages. They were on my dreamlist--so glad they came available.
I LOVE THIS! Wonder Woman, Supergirl...AND a 59 Caddy all on one piece?? Awesome.
HOLY MOLY! This is the best thing I've ever seen. The envy is strong.
Aye, I have a few of these unfinished pieces. Next time I see Budd, I think I am going to ask him to put down finishing licks on one of these rather than do something new.
It is gorgeous. Composition and color choice on this one are amazing.
This is one of my all-time favorites. This was a really great pick-up.
You think so? I bet they'd look pretty identical if set side-by-side. The only difference I can tell is with the details of the background. This has been my favorite of the pieces he has listed, though I did really like the Josie sketches he did, too. I wish with those that I'd taken the option you did with this one.
