My fave character - I confess I did consider going for this one, but opted to try (and fail) for another piece instead. Glad *some* one got lucky on that drop! Congrats on a very fun piece :)
Wow, great team piece from my favorite era of the Legion <3
Utterly gorgeous, my jealousy knows no bounds ;) Congrats on a great pickup!
I jotted that down based on some notes, but while I may be temporally correct, I may have to check if that claim is correct for publication history ;)
yeah! Koko was such a fun supporting character in the timelost arc, that it was nice to see this scene play out :D
Sublime piece, best 'doodle' I've ever seen ;) Congratulations on being the fastest finger for this drop!
Thank you kindly sir! Now if I can only convince the inker to sell me the 'final' version, I shall be even happier than I already am ;)
thanks! what's even more amazing is that, due to a miscommunication between me and Stan's art rep, Stan had drawn a completely different scene for the commission. once we sorted it all out, Stan re-drew the entire commission from scratch in 4 hours, on his way to the convention where it was being picked up! My friend was happy to take the 'spare' ;)
Haha thanks - she didn't bring too many originals to the convention I was attending so I was lucky to get this quality piece from her :)
Ah! Thanks for the correction - I was posting quite a backlog of scans so an error crept in. Completely agree that Jeff did a great job (along with a few others) for the Zero Hour LSH. Still one of my favourite eras for the team and he would be great if/when they eventually rejoin the DCU.
always nice to be able to get a Davis piece, especially at a reasonable price :D i did think twice about it, since the Union Jack Pendragon costume has to be one of the worst re-designs in the history of comics (you went from an iconic classic to *that* ?!) but Grace looks nice, doesn't she? ;)
I have a soft spot for the Marvel UK line as well, but I dare say this may be the best drawn version of Hell's Angel yet :) Great piece!
very very nice - too few Destruction images floating around and this is a great addition to the 'unofficial' lore :)
Amazing piece - I guess I should have tried harder for a Wada at home piece and emailed him, but congratulations on an absolutely gorgeous bit of art (and i love the character choice too!)
Thanks! Great character page, so I'm very pleased a friend decided to flip it quickly :)
I love ... everything about this piece :)
great page from the Savitar arc and one of my favourite Jay/Bart moments!
don't be *too* jealous - had to pay a pretty penny at auction for this one *sigh*! as far as i know its one of the few (3?) times alex ross has drawn Captain Britain though, and its still more affordable than (most) of his painted work!
First commission? It's going to be very hard to top this EPIC piece!
the first 'affordable' piece of Sandman-related art I came across (moving up from prints and sketches)! Zulli's work on The Wake was lovely and his take on Daniel is probably the definitive version of that character -not that other artists do a bad job ;)
even with a hundred variant covers, this stands out as being one of the best Batman images of all time!
hey Ben, i really think it was a just a matter of right place, right time. he did have the set in his folder, but he wasn't really advertising it for sale. it was only after we talked through some of his other pieces, most notably the full cover Cap/Fury triptych - which was even more expensive - that this deal came into play. i'm a fan of the old steranko SHIELD stuff and really like Jim's modern take on the look so once i saw the whole spread laid out, it just seemed like a great match :D
Haha! Couldn't have done it without your eagle eyes :D
Haha - yeah, I was having trouble finding *one* piece from Jim that I could afford ... but when I saw the first cover was actually part of this set of 6, I broke the piggy bank!
Thanks! Make sure you take a look at them all together :D http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1261528
Ha! Well my 'list' was any music related comic book character - although to be fair there are fewer of those around than I originally thought :D I hope you enjoyed watching the cartoon for reference though!
Had the pleasure of viewing this masterpiece in person, before you picked it up at STGCC. Simply one of the best Iron Man covers of the last decade!
