I think I saw this one on eBay, and put in a bid or two. I like the mood and contrast.

It's a very nice piece with a load of nostalgia for those of us who grew up reading those comics. Congratulations!

Yes! I was twelve years old when black suit spidey appeared for the first time. I can't afford the Zeck's or the Frenz's black suit spidey, this was the next best thing.  Plus the bonuses of Cloak & Dagger and the Black Cat reallyhit the spot as a great nostalgic page.

Just like art from first issues, it's always cool to have art from final ones as well, especially nice looking covers like this one. Congratulations, Larry!

The funny thing was the iconic original art of Superman, Man of Steel #1 was in the same auction.

Wow, So good! Claremont bringing Betsy to the New Mutants/X-Men. I believe, if Davis was living in the US, he would work on the X-Men more often.

Having bought and owned many original pages from both Davis and Farmer, including art from this series, I can confirm that both Alan and Mark worked on these pages on the same board as they personally confirmed to me. There is no separate board with Alan's tight pencils.

Thank You for the confirmation, Rich.

Killer Wolverine imagery!  Even the published art had no word balloons as this is pure Davis and Neary storytelling.

Sorry folks, the legendary team of Davis and Neary was in my mind for some reason. But it is Mark Farmer that did the inking deed.

They are definitely not the most honest guys in town to deal with. They one time quoted me a price for a piece of art, which I agreed too. They wrote me back and said the piece had already been sold and was listed by mistake. Two months later they wrote me back to ask me if I was still interested in the piece, only now the price was two times higher. To me that shows lack of integrity and honesty.

"Not the most honest guys in town to deal with"? That's down right dirty rotten scoundrels !!🤯🤯🤯

I'm also a big fan of Tyler Kirkham's art. This might be blasphemous to say, but I prefer Kirkham's art to Turner's. He is a great stellar stand out from the old Topcow's studio. You can tell, he have that Silvestri and Turner influence.
