I got the idea when I thought about a valentine's card ;-)
The original costumes - and Fred mostly uses them - of the founding members of the Legion of Super-Villains (LSV) were based on the costumes of their counterparts in the LSH. Hence, for example, the space helmet here in Cosmic King - Cosmic Boy also wore one when the LSH was founded. The best way to see this is to compare the covers of Adventure Comics #247 (1st LSH) - www.comics.org/issue/14358 - and Superman #147 (1st LSV) - www.comics.org/issue/16384.
Your guess is correct - Giffen made the breakdowns.

Yes, Ron has really managed to do that in great detail. And it also gives the impression that it's just two (comic) actors on a break from filming.
I don't know what the head of Impossible Man is doing there - but as we all know, he's always good for a surprise ;-)
Yes, I think so too. And I asked Johnny to draw Wildfire's head looking to the left so that they can look at each other as pictures hanging on the wall. Interestingly, he usually draws head pictures looking to the right ;-)
Barry has drawn a real little series with many such little heroes in clouds. Some of them I was lucky enough to get hold of - for this I have even set up a separate section in my gallery here at CAF.
I find this one a lot better than the cover that was actually released - wonderfully intense!
Very nice idea! I would have been happy anyway if the Espionage Squad had featured prominently in stories much more often.
This is one of the best reinterpretations I've ever seen!!!

Since I have also lost out more often on ebay, I know exactly how you felt ;-)
Obviously I was lucky at that time ;-) Your interest I have in mind, but for the foreseeable future I will certainly not sell this beautiful piece.
