A very, very cool page from a great book, a highlight not only in the career of the artist, bit also within modern superhero books. Finally an artistic vision (backed by talent) than the usual similar modelsheet drawings.
A heartwarming story showing how deep your love for this character and it’s creators is. I bow my head. And I assume the artists where thrilled, too, telling this story now within their families.

If Eisner Was a master in something, it was rain. Never comic book pages felt so wet and soaked through as on his. Well, how fitting that the late modern master Cooke is giving us the same feeling using Eisner's signature character in creating a moody, iconic rendition. Iconic is a word too often used nowadays to level up mid-level pieces, but this is a top-class one that deserves this description.

Undoubtedly THE definitive page in the books in regards of setting the tone and mood of the story. Impressive.
I remember seeing this at a booth of the French publisher asca WALL of the booth. Gotham became a character.... and Batman is so 100 % the guardian angel.

Yes, there is a hardcover edition by DC Comics collecting both volumes in one. Also in France Germany.... (the German Deluxe beeing the biggest one ,with an acetate slipcase and lots of bonus).
So this is the result when a guy with a big heart collaborates with a great, nice artist to make a gift to a friend? Who needs to be Spider-Ham's ellbow if you can have friends like that out there?
