That awesome - small world. I figured this wasn't super recent based on the signature compared to his later pieces. This was my first chance to pick up a Zeck punisher, when Mike Burkey offered in one of the Dueling Dealers episodes, next will be to pick up a published Zeck page!
Yeah, this one was too good to pass up, and Mike made it a really good deal. Love the DD show - always a lot of fun
This is absolutely stunning - especially when you see the detail on the original vs the what was cropped out or covered up with trade dress on the printed book. Hardware was such a cool character, congrats on a great cover from the original creator of the character. Love Denys' work.
Ah Hah! So you were the other Grendel maniac I was bidding against in the Kevin Smith auction!! Great pickup Eli - this is probably the best page in the series. Love those predator-esque dreadlocks that Prime has. Congrats, and love the Devil in Detail series - always a highlight of the day when you guys put out a new episode.
John is an absolutely master - what a great piece - and I love how John works something meaningful into each of his commissions. Very very cool.
LaRosa is a amazing. Loved his work on Punisher and this piece with the Punisher's shadow in the shape of a machine gun - absolutely classic!
What an amazing page - and an absolute blast of a story. Easily one of my favorites from Bad Idea. Thanks Christos!!
Yes, while originally I was a little bit disappointed, that's exactly how I made my peace with it. It's a great series, most of the art I've found has stats of some kind on it, and on this piece there is a good amount of OA of both Jessica and Luke.
I have noticed some of the pieces from the first issue look like they may be stat free, if you ever see one of those go up for sale.
Unfortunately no - I think pretty much every piece I've seen from this series has paste ups affixed to the bristol. This one has them on panel 4 and panel 7 - and I can see some hand done inking and corrections done on top of the stats.
Not noted when I picked up the piece from Heritage however. Either way - still a nice piece from this series
Haha! Marcus - I think you might have a job in the Bad Idea marketing team if you wanted it. I think you're certainly on to something here!
This is an incredible piece, from the master of tragedy and despair. The brick and stonework background is amazing. Great addition to the collection.
