This is so cool. Absolutely love Cheap Trick. Introduced to them by my older brother and his yellow vinyl copy of Budokan.
Bruno, I'm sad to see this one go but happy it's found a good home.
That's a rather fine piece of artwork :^)
David Mack's work is exceptional, this stands up as a wonderful piece of artwork in it's own right and the choice of framing is spot on too.
"Just need to find one with Death now..." I second that, Hempel's interpretation of Death is to die for. In the meantime this is an awesome example of an outstanding artist who contributed some of the most striking imagery to Gaiman's magnum opus.
Mr Zulli has done an amazing job creating this. The composition and detailing are perfect. I don't think I have seen such a sinister but tender rendering of the brothers before. "Family Business" indeed. Congratulations on such an inspired choice of commission.
A fantastic page, the irregular layout of the final 14 panels make the pounding rhythm of the music almost palpable.
Superlative! It would be worth going to hell and back for a page like this.
A Wonderful interpretation of Dream and Death, you have really caught the essence of the characters.
Possibly a near perfect example of how to execute a nine panel page. Genius!
I wonder what unwritten Sandman Books sit on the shelves of Lucien's library. a very nice page indeed.
Great idea to get the pages lettered by Colleen. I wish I had got her to do the same with mine.
Wow, How did you come by these, they are truly stunning and not only an important part of comic book history but also Dave's development of the artist. He really was going all out to create something unique for Neil and DC. I think it's interesting to note that had Sandman first been published on a few years later these would more than likely have been created as digital collages rather than the beautiful artifacts here. Congratulations.
My favourite issue. Congratulations.
An extraordinary page, in a league of its own.
Such a superbly sensuous and sensitive study.
A great page indeed, I love Peter Gross's take on Death.
Morpheus, Matthew, Rose Walker and Fiddlers Green transforming from human manifestation back into a pastoral idyl at the heart of the dreaming. Top that all of with art by Mike Dringenberg and Malcolm Jones III and in my mind you really cannot get much better. Classic stuff indeed.
Just been reading Brief Lives again, so it's nice to the the original artwork for this page. A classic example of Morpheus at his most melancholic and self indulgent best. Great page!!!
The rate you are going with these, you will have the entire artwork for the poster in your collection. Keep up the good work!
"I'll never let you see The way my broken heart is hurting me I've got my pride and I know how to hide All the sorrow and pain I'll do my crying in the rain" Poor old Morpheus wallowing in an Everly Brothers moment. This is a beautiful page!!
That would of course be Rose Walker not Lyta Hall, I must stop posting comments after a few drinks.
Morpheus, Lyta Hall and Fiddlers Green all on one page. This is absolutely stunning. A real gem!!! Congratulations.
Beautiful art and writing from a great issue. Congratulations.
Stunning! I bet this looks even better in person. Definitely worth framing and hanging somewhere you can enjoy the depth and textures of Mr Mckean's masterly handiwork. Congratulations.
