You are right this was a con sketch from the 2008 San Diego Comic Con.  She forgot the wings and added them after it was finished.   

I disagree this is the second best Songbird ever, I have the best one.  However I was the under bidder on this one.  Darn you.

Wow wow wow.   What a fabulous story page.  I love Dark Phoenix last words on the page.  They used a rendition of this in the Marvel VS. Capcom 3 game when she wins.  "Ask not for pity from the Dark Phoenix, there is none here.".  Love it.
