It's technically a Wrightson painting with that white paint brushwork for the ice effect. It transitions so well to the illustrative linework with the center image and goes in even deeper with the heavy shadows on the last panel.  that white ice work is incredible! the transition into the bottom panel is handled really well because it's not really two dedicated panels with separation, he blended them in, possibly why he added the volcano smoke? |
