Nice setup!  You want to find out if there's a real explanation of the comic or if Deitch is just playing 4D chess all the way through.

Great page. I especially like the huge 3/4 splash and the title lettering. Bagge has such a great font style.

I don't even know if it's meant for reading or the words are there to enhance the design sense!  It needs to be seen afar to make out the bodies intertwining. 

Fleener art is rare on this site but always welcome. Thanks for sharing.

A man on the street view to open the story to signal to the audience that this will be a grounded big city tale of the times.  Bagge's Hate stories are a snapshot in time and there are those who still have the same mindset all these years later.

Hot new elfen look for Jen!  If the story went this way, the fan base might have accepted it in short order.

Beautiful graphic design on this page. The work involved is phenomenal. Difficult to read the small type but that means only I will have to dig out my copy from wherever it is.

Barb Wire!

When viewed today it looks like it was done a lot further back than 2009.  Mannion has the retro look of 1940's pin ups here. 

The mix of pen and bushwork is amazingly skillful.

When Mannion does a published piece, he's got that 50's pin up touch.  Very classy art to elevate a scene that is a bit more light hearted.

Duke's scandal is nothing compared to the Dan Snyder era.  Trudeau probably wouldn't get too far with how comics strips get censored by the Washington Post today.
