I love Bob’s work. All of the 2016 Marvel Masterpieces art is owned by one collector so that is likely the record holder for Marvel trading card art. Of the the more vintage sets I know one collector has over 20 paintings from the 92 Masterpieces set.
Awesome page. Happy to see pages from this story survived.
Awesome piece!
This has some really nice colors...I figured when I clicked on it I would find it was used as a trading card.
"And wasn't it the Sultan of Madagascar who threatened to cut off your head if you ever returned to his country?"
I think I just saw this reused in the Star Wars Galaxy 7 trading card set just issued by Topps.
Sweet I love Destro. I have a painting of him hanging in my living room as well.
This splash is better than most of the Cockrum/Byrne covers. He managed to fit all of the X-Men at the time without making the characters too small or too jammed together.
Thanks to George tweaking his films again for Blu-ray, Darth will now be screaming "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" as he is doing this.
I was thinking o joining the party yesterday as I have some card art I haven't posted but will jus do one big update in the next 6 months or so.
I see how it is. Hillman posts some painted card art today, you post some painted card art today, and now I am just waiting for Morphy to post one. I watch all 3 of your galleries to see what card art pops up! Nice piece!
Wow, love the colors of the back ground. You may be violating antitrust laws with your monopoly of art by the members of The Studio!
I was going to ask where his bald head is. I thought maybe Magneto would have his sitting right in his lap.
It's a nice page but I wouldn't say that Magneto is in all his glory... He isn't naked. Magneto was naked A LOT in the 90's for some reason.
I love this Scene as well. Whenever my girl friend takes the lords name in vain, I say "SLAP! That's for blasphemy." with a Sean Connery voice. She will look confused for a second and then yell at me for quoting a movie, asshe said I do it too much.
Epic! This was classic the minute it hit the stands. Beck did some really nice back covers on this series.
I know I have left a comment on this before but this is now one of my favorite Kaluta pieces. The pose is simple yet horrible. He looks like he belongs in one of the Children of the Corn flicks.
I've always loved looking at this painting in your gallery. I love the figure sin the ground.
Nice Kaluta. I know nothing of this series but it sure seems to have a lot of great cover paintings.
Great now you can sell me your TPB cover painting! Also you may want to correct the title as this is Spectacular Spider-Man.
I'm not much into panel pages but this one is classic. Kraven is one of my favorite villains.
I agree. I know not much time has passed but to me this is already an iconic image.
This is a fantastically awesome piece. I can't believe no one has left a comment about it. Easily one of my favorite's on CAF. Too bad you are such an avid Phoenix fans otherwise I would take it off your hands.
Awesome splash, nice to see it survived.
Did you notify the Coast Guard about this?
Hugh told me he mostly paints in acrylic, so that's what it most likely is.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grail of Grails for toy art for me. It's great and even a little suprising to know they still own this.
Nice cover. I'm always a big fan of a cover or splash featuring a major villain. Glad I was able to help you out in acquiring it.
I remember seeing this one in the store and then eventually owning it. I've never seen any of the original run packaging art. Pretty sweet!
