Huh. I find myself... not offended that this page is NOT in my collection. Turning into a softie in my Old Age.
Congrats on the MICRO-pickup!
The colors are SO nice and bold, like a Color Guide but without the scribbles!
Arguably THE BEST Double-Page Spread of ALL TIME had a single panel crossing both pages... and yet wasn't splashy. Clever in design and perfect in storytelling skill.

Comic Icon Dan Jurgens comments (from Facebook):
"'Assembled' pages are sometimes hard to track thoroughly. Patches done on a separate board could often get separated from the rest of the artwork and never returned."
This might bode poorly for my chances of ever finding the patch artwork. It may well have been discarded, and what we see is all there is left.
Did you just make a 'special hug' joke? Ewwwww.
The two pages I've posted is all, I think.
Good to see you touching-base, Ken! Happy New Year!
Hey, any chance I could get you to beg off if the MICRON(AUT)S cover turns up? (Issue #6) You can have the other 23!
I presume you mean THIS one...?

Yeah, but it's pretty 'small' competition. ::rimshot:: I'm here all week.
Great page if you like Ship Porn. (And who doesn't?)
A trifle envious, but I'll get over it. Really, I will. Aaaaany second now.
I wish I was cool enough to use 'owlhoot' in a sentence and get away with it. Sadly...
Ya put it in yer ear, not your mouth, ya bastich!
I do not necessarily condone what occurs in the panels of my collection. If I did, disembodied hands strangling people would be all the rage in my house.
A nice way of noting it's a 'people-standing-around-talking' page. ;)
LOTS of those with this particular series.
You want to have an action figure of HYBRID? ®
Ew. You MONSTER!
Great page from an underrated (but inevitable, in retrospect, given the creative teams of both books) crossover issue.
'Exogorth' ? C'mon, man! I'm pushing 60! Too lazy to even look it up.
You aren't missing anything by not having the 'overlay' in this situation. Whenever the art for an overlay effect is drawn on the principal page (and then covered over) that means the overlay would have simply been a photocopy of the overlay art portion from the main page, pasted on an otherwise blank page. Long since discarded.
A tremendous example of Golden's 'vintage' style! Congrats!
...also, probably the FINAL published page/image of IDW's version of MICRONAUTS.
...published in a backup story in a TRANSFORMERS comic? No wonder no-one knew where it was from!
Was this one of those books where the entire story was half-pages (and the publisher tried to pay a half-page rate)?
Golden's signature tucked away discreetly.
1970's Rann could easily be - Lee Majors! ... Baron Karza removing his helmet - Max von Sydow!
"What, whittle bitty meee?" >blinks innocently<
Howard genrally declines to do Star Wars commissions these days. Perhaps he was a little more relaxed a decade ago. Glad you and Tom were able to get him to participate! The end result is stunning, if you're going to commission a 'recreation' why not make it -just- as unique as the original?
I like to think I -took it easy- with the blue. ;-)

But you're not the only one to comment.
(Well done in keeping a visual record of the stages of completion. Nice planning, nice execution. Now, do the same for... say... the cover for Micronauts #11...?)
As Marcus obliquely noted above, works just fine dialog-free. A Master Storyteller at work.
