Thank you! I rescued the fan from the trash, repaired it, and eventually decided to paint Logan and Mariko on it to exhibit at a past Boston Comic Con.
Ah, yes...Tina Louise, a most lovely Ginger! But this painting is meant to use the term 'Fred & Ginger' with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers in mind, the Hollywood dancers from the 1940's. So...here's Fred standing in front of the vegetable ginger. Just a spoof. ;-)
One would hope Marcus...one would hope. Although with Vampi you never know...😳
Thank you Matt! Comics are what made me become an artist. But I’ve always liked nature and birds in particular. I’ve even done landscapes, cityscapes, still life, etc, the traditional ‘art’ subjects. So at one point I figured, why not do it all! But Comics were my first love and they really are a tremendous art form! My best, Rich
Thank you Shelton! Great to hear from you buddy! I did this one for Versicolor a few years ago and thought it would be fun to draw Bettie Page with the Bride's hair.
Thank you for the compliment Terry. It's much appreciated!
Shelton, I've been visiting your Ebay page about once a week these days! Dynamite stuff! But I especially like this 'Creature'!
Robert, been enjoying your covers VERY much! Really well done!
Always a great character! Love the flying necklace and the red 'Splat'! Great job Shelton!
HAH! Thank you Shelton! Don't you wish they actually existed and 'were' quietly roaming around out in the desert...
Frankie - Your Transformer cards are just excellent! Great job!
Thank you Patrick! I just viewed your Mr. Freeze pieces on your page...pretty great, nice collection!
Hi Shelton - Thank you again! I use 0.5 Pentel leads in mechanical pencils. I also use some graphite pencils that are all graphite, no wood, made by Koh-I-Noor to get really dark when I want to. The 0.5 leads are F's, HB's and 2B's in three separate holders. I started using these so I wouldn't have to stop and sharpen pencils. The all-graphite leads go from HB to 8B. With this Xmen cover of Storm I also used a kneaded eraser on her hair. I drew it in, then erased some of it out to get the 'light' effect. I've also always really liked 'texture' in drawing so I enjoy making leather look different from skin or hair etc. BUT all this rendering IS time consuming. Talk to you again. - Take care. - Rich
Many thanks Shelton! Always great to hear from you buddy!
