Thank you for the thoughtful comment. I had forgotten about that Chester Brown comic but now that you mentioned it I remember that I have it somewhere.

Yes - I love how Moebius never did the same fan drawing twice, always coming up with something on the spot.

Great story! I never met Moebius, unfortunately. But I did find a copy of "Le bandard fou" with a tiny drawing, practically a doodle, from his hand.
