That's a solid recreation. I was actually thinking of getting a recreation of this done myself. Nicely done.
It looks like Neal Adams had a hand in this page (as did many pages featuring Superman). The Superman figure in panel two has a lot of his work.
John Romita redrew a lot of Peter Parker and Spider-Man faces throughout this job. This page shows signs of his handiwork.
I think Steve Leialoha inked the backgrounds on this page.
These pages all seem to be paved in white paint. Terry Austin background inks and likely some touching up by Neal Adams.
The page I had was drawn print size. I assume his one is the same.
I have no idea. Maybe I drew the wrong character? Maybe it wasn't an exact enough match? I'm not sure.
Interesting to see. The Torch appears to have been redrawn from the waist up--I would assume by Romita because his gestures are very unlike Kane's work.
John Romita went to town on that page. All that white paint indicates that it was heavily reworked by Romita. The end result is stunning but I would absolutely credit Romita with co-inking this piece. I'd be really curious to shine a light through this to see what it had looked like prior.
This cover was pencilled by Keith Giffen and inked by Bruce Timm.
Why didn't I buy this when I had the chance? Why? It's one of the greatest pages ever drawn. Just spectacular.
Nice page from my second issue of Spider-Man. Al's inks were devine.
I wouldn't get buried with art. So, I guess death would get me to part with this stuff.
There is no occasion in which I would part with this. So, don't even try.
Amazing work, as always--Leonardi hits it out of the park.
I made an accounting at the time for insurance purposes. I don't recall everything. It's not easy to remember it all. I'm sure it was hundreds of pages ofmy own work as well as pages by Steve Ditko (Machine Man), Walter Simonson (X-Factor), Gil Kane (various, including hundreds of Star Hawks layouts), José Luis García-López (Teen Titans), George Pérez (Fantastic Four, Teen Titans), Ross Andru (Superman Vs. the Amazing Spider-Man), Todd McFarlan (Infinity Inc.), Rob Liefeld (Hawk and Dove) and others.
Thankfully, there were no Kirby pages in my possession yet.
Todd McFarlane drew layouts on 8½ x 11 typing paper, so his actual pencil never touched this 11 x 17 Bristol art board.
Todd's layouts were destroyed in the East Bay Firestorm in 1991 along with my house and numerous other originals. I don't knnow if Todd (or Marvel) has any copies of his layouts on file but I don't.
This entire issue was pencilled in eight days while I was working at DC on the Doom Patrol. A few months later I moved over to Marvel on my first regular asignment, the Punisher.
I had one of these on my closet door as a kid. Long gone, of course. It's a thing of beauty.
Sorry that happened to you. There are a number of scammers out there and, regretably, people get hurt as a result.
I didn't draw this.
Spectacular. A true grail piece. Congratulations.
Always loved this cover. Bill redrew the crap out of Sub-Mariner, as was his way. I don't see traces of Gil in Subby, although he's quite present elsewhere. Fantastic!
Definitely not Trimpe. Looks like Ron Wilson and Mike Esposito to my eyes.
It’s a good thing people snapped up some of this art before the fire.
The changes made vastly improved this cover. Awesome!
It was VOLTO and GRAPE NUTS but I know just the guy! Those ads were awesome!
A terrific page. Robbins did far too little Batman. He was his own best inker. This is stellar.
This is legitimately hilarious. Amazing art and a terrific punchline.
How crazy cool is that? George Tuska drew Savage Dragon and I wasn't even aware of it!
Just fyi--the piece "Kirby" piece you inked is a forgery. It's based on THIS actual Kirby drawing: http://i.imgur.com/b2P9ppV.jpg
Just FYI--you have the credits flipped. Jerry Bingham pencilled this page--Bob Layton inked it.
They also did two issues of Orion together--and those looked MUCH different. I hate to invoke the fanboy mantra but their old stuff was better.
What a great cover! If only Byrne would do more with the character! I miss him!
I'm not breaking up issues but there are a few which are available due to them being covers on trades or issues which were broken up for various reasons. There's no one price and they generally range from $1000-$3000.
