Great page. If you ever decide to sell it...
Can't really go wrong with anything Moebius. This one is killer.
You should really just sell me this cover. It will save me the time of commenting on it every year. Saying how much I love it.
Quintessential piece. Spirit of Wood. Very nice Ron. And your one of the very few on CAF whose write ups match the grander of the art. Of course you have to have grand art to do that, but with your gallery, that's a given. my compliments.
No comments a year later? DC SA OA doesn't receive the respect it deserves. The 5tth panel is a especially tender scene. Congrats.
A Blueberry page! The deeper I go into your collection, the more impressed I am. It doesn't level off in quality, but keeps getting better. Just amazing.
Next best thing to the original, and close to it, line for line. A testament to how good Buscema was.
How did you get these pages? I'm in near shock. Miller at his peak, er, peaks, well, you know what I mean.
It is pages like this that make trolling through CAF worth it. Serious piece.
Andru and Esposito were good, Andru and Romita is better. As I was viewing this page at the smaller size, before I came into the larger size version, I said to myself, "Wow, a really interesting, and different Andru and Esposito page, a lot of blacks." Romita inked it and said, of course! Maybe Romita even added the Stan Lee touch himself. I can picture him in the bullpen, and seeing Stan, and deciding to make the face after Stan, as kind of an amusing thing to do, to show Stan. Anyway, big-league page you've got here. Congrats.
Frollo did a magnificent job here. Probably yhe centerpiece of your collection. Remarkable.
Great pacing and spotting of blacks, fine detail, and varying camera angles, this early Redondo piece has strong hints of what his later mature work would be.
Yet another fabulous time capsule by a artist not given his full due here in the U.S.
Kenyan said it best. I can't add much more to his concise description, but to say remarkable.
Are you kidding? The whole page is just about iconic. Wow!
One of the most remarkable pages from a superb book. Very nice.
I am a big enthusiast of the Criminal series. I remember this panel. Congrats.
Eisner was one who helped write the language of the medium. I can see why you would want one for your wonderful collection.
Maybe I am being a little righteous here, but I am often a little amazed, and somewhat indignant when such essential art is uncommented on. Risso is a modern master. His art is so forward, in your face. His layouts, pacing, use of blacks are skillful. This page attests to that. Congrats.
Nice addition to your wonderful collection.
For me, those last 2 panels make the page. If you ever decide to sell it, please let me know. Congrats.
What? No comments on A Supergirl SA piece that is a splash but also features Brainiac? Unthinkable! We'll fix that. I would take this piece over most modern age splash's in a second. Rodney Dangerfield, where are you?
Personally, I think it would look better with a overlay of the logo, stats, etc., since it is essentially a homage type cover of Adventure #300. But still, a beautiful cover. Congrats.
What I find most amusing about this splash, aside from that it is a incredible piece of LSH/Cockrum/early DC BA art, is the dialogue. They protest it is the 30th century, and shouldn't a "girl" get another chance. This is why I find the DC stuff from this era so entertaining, although not in a way the creators intended.
Attractive piece. I had the cover immediately preceding this one, and now I am sorry I sold it. I can see why you had to jump on it. Congrats.
Chang did a fantastic job with that car engine. Oh yeah, the rest of the cover is pretty good too.
Remarkable recreation. Big John really put his all in this.
One of the few pieces of OA that looks better in color. But I guess with new production techniques, that will become more prevalent. Regardless, still a haunting piece.
Morrow did a better Supergirl then just about anyone. This is really a stunning piece.
