Dave Gibbons mentioned in a recent shoot interview on the youtube channel 'Cartoonist Kayfabe', that the words "...or al die..." are highlighted on the wall. This becomes more obvious on the final printed page with John Higgins coloring. Never noticed that to be honest :-) See 40:04 min: https://youtu.be/IeGNqyBI-MY ![]() I haven't listened to that episode yet, but it's in my queue. You just moved it up to the top! Those guys have done a great job on that podcast. That's what I love about this page, there are little allusions like that to all sorts of things. It's like every square inch has its own planned significance. |

Totleben, John - Miracleman, issue 14, pages 10 & 11 DPS (Apr 1988) Owner: Chris K. Comment posted on 10/2/2021 Amazing piece! The figures on the far left embody the look of Totleben's art for this part of the seroies. And you're completely right about these pages' place in the story. Some of the best of the best, for sure! |

Jackson Guice - Defenders #129 Cover (Marvel, 1984) Owner: Gene Park Comment posted on 9/26/2021 Just a beautiful cover! I've always thought all the covers from the New Defenders run were really nice, and this one's no exception. A lot of them were pinup shots of the team, and are pretty, but the action on this one sets it apart for sure! |

Jim Lee Uncanny X-Men 277 pg 30 Owner: Brian Vander Comment posted on 7/2/2018 Really nice! There weren't many Jim Lee Colossus pages, since he was an amnesiac artist for the first part of Jim Lee's run and on the other team for most of the last part. Harbinger # 15 Cover Howard Simpson & Bob Layton Owner: David Holden Comment posted on 7/1/2018 Really nice cover! I remember this disappearing from the stores when the Secret Weapons series was announced, back when anything Valiant was instantly worth more than cover price. Harbinger was one of the best books and I never missed it. Everything in the first 25 issues was classic. And this cover, with Harada standing above the fray, is really symbolic of that character's role in the entire series. |
