Freakin' awesome. The "Jim Lee/Scott Williams Uncanny X-Men Wolverine splashy claws-out 'for all the good that does you' Club" has the best secret lounge in the finest airports!
Powerful, dramatic page! A classic. And yes, Joe Sinnott is absolutely tops. Odin looks like John Romita's work, especially the hair, the nose, his left hand, and the details on his right arm. Whether that figure is Romita or it isn't, this is still an excellent page by some of the All-Time Greats.
A breathtaking tribute to Jack "King" Kirby's wellspring of creativity that fully earned the title of "The World's Greatest Comic Magazine!" And an awe-inspiring monument to Arthur Adams' expansive vision and skills. Wow!
A world class melee! Everything looks great here, including Grodd, Ocean Master, and Fastback the terrapin dude between Batman & Black Lightning! Very well done!!
Epic piece! Nice details, terrific colors and great character work. Very well-done by Govar!
Perfect start to the jam sketch! Sommariva's Turtles are tops!
You are very welcome, Rob. Glad to assist and thank you so much for your gracious courtesy and generous hospitality. I really enjoyed the opportunity to view some of the pieces from your amazing collection on CAF. I look forward to checking out more as time permits!
Well, it's a terrific piece whether it's popular or not. :) Pages like this are relatively hidden gems...There's so much to appreciate here, and in the rest of Sinnott's JIM work from this period. This piece made me grab the Marvel Masterworks #18 off the shelf and revisit these All-Sinnott issues. Great work on assembling your terrific collection, and thank you for sharing it on CAF.
Beautifully penciled by Mark. Great details and composition.
Terrific...Wotta perfect cover. Schultz did such mind-blowing work on Xenozoic Tales.
Beautiful piece! Yes, Schultz is AMAZING!
Great page, great moment, great series! Very well-chosen piece in your carefully curated collection.
Sequential art at it's finest. And I love that panel break between p1 and 2. I always wished that Stan had utilized Marie much more...she was such a power-packed artist and effective story-teller.
Power-packed page by a timeless master of the craft. Two uru hammers to the cranium in one page! Joe Sinnott is the heat. How in the world does this historic early, formative Thor vs Loki page have no comments?
Terrific FF splash. Byrne and Sinnott were so great together. Play Ball!
Great way to start the hobby! 100% pure Buckler-Sinnott goodness!
Classic from one of the all-time best. Neal gives the figures a very real weight and solidity within the composition. And he masterfully nails the facial expressions to capture the joy of life and the thrill of flight.
Your very welcome, Rob. The letters page for Fantastic Four issue #166 credits Dan Adkins with inks for issue #162 pages 30 and 31 with the following explanation: “due to deadline pressure, we didn’t have time to mail them to Joltin’ Joey. We think Dan did a great job for the overnight assignment he had – but we were amazed by how many F.F. boosters spotted the subtle difference, especially in the texture of the ever-lovin’ blue-eyed Thing.” The letter's page can be viewed at http://i1255.photobucket.com/albums/hh626/shoveler11/Fantastic%20Four%20166%20Letters%20Page_zpsrvvocfzs.jpg If the image is too small to read, you can right-click it and select "View Image" from the pull-down menu to embiggen it. Hope that helps! :) Whether inked by Sinnott or Adkins, Bucker's Ben Grimm is always a treat. Congrats on the great, classic FF page!
Crom! What a wonderful, perfect Conan splash by Big John!
Great FF page by Buckler, who always drew a great Ben Grimm! Please note that this page was inked by Dan Adkins, not Sinnott.
Very well done! The ornaments for the Cat, Bat and Penguin are a nice touch. Congrats on a great showcase piece.
Even better in color. Glenn Whitmore nails it, especially the right shade of green highlights on the corrugated doors. Very well done. Wotta Monstah!
Brilliantly conceived and executed! Kudos to Allan Goldman for the excellent characters, and for delineating every...single...brick in the marvelous Fenway background! But shouldn't they should be singing "Deck the halls with Boston Charlie, Nora's freezing on the trolley..."?
A great moment portrayed brilliantly by EDex McGuinness & Vines!
Terrific, action-packed composition by McNiven and superb inks by Dexter Vines. Everything you could ask for in a Spidey cover!
Excellent page in your blockbuster collection of Venom art!
Excellent splash! Perfect Spidey 2099 image by Leonardi & Williamson!!
Amazing double-page splash! Jim Cheung's world-building and storytelling shine on these pages. And Don Hillsman II did great inks on this series.
Nice framing of Exeter on the page, with the wooden beams on the top & sides, and Bron's troops below. Don Hillsman II's inks look great on Jim Cheung's powerful pencils. Great collection of Scion pages!
Great page from a great series! Very nice inks by Don Hillsman II over Jim Cheung's pencils.
Well-done! I appreciate how Nick has Man-Thing making direct eye-contact with the viewer. Great character for Nick's style!
Beppo made the nice list this year! Fun holiday piece and great addition to your themed artwork collection. Kudos to your Secret Santa!
Great page! The overlapping panels make for an interesting layout and that last panel is one for the ages. Starlin & Cockrum are a great combo. Congrats!
Great page loaded with atmosphere. The dramatic tension is heightened by Cooke's intermingling the panels of silhouette. Congrats on adding some shining examples of Darwyn Cooke's brilliance to your collection. And you are correct --- J. Bone's inks are marvelous!
Very nice. That mouse is awesome!
Lovely painting. I love that trompe l'oeil effect with the butterfly in the foreground. Thanks for sharing it!
Adorable art. The pets' expressions are terrific!
So much to like here: Hulk to Banner transformation, iconic shots of Superman, nice images of Spider-Man (& Peter Parker!), and it's by Big John Buscema and Joe Sinnott. It even looks like Klaus Janson, one of the all-stars credited on the title page, may have worked on some of the backgrounds. Big congrats!
