Cool! This was one of the sketch cards I drew for I think it was Blue Line Pros charity auction for cancer research. My mother had just been diagnosed with lung cancer. The very next day I received an email from BLP saying they were having an auction in a few weeks and were still looking for donations. I drew five or six I believe and then asked some of my artist connections if they'd donate at least one. The late, great Dave Simons donated three (while he himself was losing his battle with the same disease and sadly passed away before the auction),Paul Gulacy donated a piece of art, Jeffrey Jones donated a signed print, Frank Brunner gave an excellent copy of Dr. Strange #1 that he signed and the legendary NEAL ADAMS drew one in honor of my mom!!! Anyway, mom passed about a week after Dave but she was moved to tears that people who had never met her were more than happy to donate items. I know....waaaay to much info. Just had to get it all out there for you.
Okay, this is going to sound weird. When I gave BWS some books to sign for me, I asked if he could sign them on the cover so I could display them. This was one of the books I sent, since Barry did the artwork. When I got my books back all were signed on the cover...except this one. It was signed on the inside with a note attached that reads "Signed inside-BWS didn't draw this cover." Huh? This cover screams Art Adams on Dazzler and BWS on Storm...to me at least. I still say he drew Storm but maybe Art can verify this for me.
In the words of Christopher Walkin... "WOW! WOWWIE, WOW, WOW, WOW!". I wonder...how many will get that reference?
I remember recognizing the artist on this book cover from the other side of the comic store and freakin' out 'cause it had a Joe Jusko cover.
This is sweet! Takes me back to when I was a kid and the original poster came out...hopefully some day...
I would have loved to see this cover also...or was it used and I just missed it?
Terrific piece. You can see everything he's gone through in his face. Can't wait for the book.
Awesome!! It's always good to see the classic "old school" Batman.
Joe, this has to be the most gorgeous Red Sonja I've ever seen. I agree. Her hair just looks so...lifelike. Incredible! Anychance this will be released as a print?
I like it. Is she a commission or is she available? You never know if they are marked NFS if that's true or not.
AWESOME!! Just too amazing! What, no Space Ghost stuff? C'mon, Dude. Don't leave us hangin'.
Okay, so I'm not the only one. I always felt the same way...SUPERMAN SUCKS! I don't know what exactly it is, but even as a kid I prefered Batman and any other hero over Supes. There, I said it too!
