Adam Kubert was on fire during his first tenure on Wolverine and Mark Farmer also did a great job. Too bad the penciller couldn't handle the publishing pace.
What a shame, the X-Men never can have a deserved rest after saving the universe.
A classic run, and the introduction of a new Canadian super hero. I liked a lot how Colossus handled the situation in this issue!
Grazie per il messagio, fa sempre piacere. Questa tavola sara sempre con me e dopo me, spero che i bambini la manterrano anche!
I don't have a clue if it's been so long.
Scherzo a meta.
Merci pour ce commentaire. Mais qu'attendre d'autre de la part d'une personne dont le pseudo ebay est Jizzlober1992? Ceci est déjà signe de bon goût!
I do agree with you, the Phalanx Covenant crossover was excellent, right behind the Age of Apocalypse storyline. This cover is fantastic and full of details. Skroce was one of the best Cable artist IMHO.
And what a kick off!
I remember the first couple of pages of the issue, it was harsh, no place for hope but a desperate attempt to survive in this doomed world.
Certainly the best title from the entire Age of Apocalypse storyline IMHO, because it's without a doubt the best capture of this world.
I absolutely love the details put on this DPS. No words required to capture the atmosphere of the issue.
Hey, this cover finally surfaced here! Congrats on your acquisition. Skroce was at his best during his tenure on X-Man.
The last panel sums it up. He's the Kingpin. But an upset Kingpin!
The Australia era was at end. I absolutely loved the fact that Wolverine was unaware of what waas coming. The Reavers were tough and they wanted blood. Claremont, Silvestri and Green were at their peak with this issue and the Muir Island saga.
An underrated comic book. Sal Buscema drew a strong Nova and I liked a lot the stories, well before Nova was back on stage with the New Warrios (it wasn't quite the same IMHO :D ).
Merci Arnaud. Le hasard et un bon échange ont permis de mettre les mains et les yeux sur cette planche.
Very nice page with both Holocaust and Nate Grey. Such a clash between them!
Kubert really had his thing to draw such strong covers on Wolverine. You have a wonderful illustration of this!
Yeah, Wolverine on his knees against a yakuza under the influence of a powerful drug leading to your death!
The page has so many details, it's really a fine work from Lee and Williams. They were at the peak of their art during this era IMHO.
I'll enjoy it as much as you did. A great page from a fantastic artist. I'll cherish this page until the end of the world!
Very nice page. Congrats! Loved the Reavers and Deathstrike. Great rendition of her sense of honor with this page.
Very nice acquisition. Strong Silvestri's storytelling. Rogue's in bad shape, Havok and Dazzler combine their powers but do no harm to the Master Mold. Perfect introduction to this issue and the coming ending.
Very nice page. The disposition is great, Stryfe's position inspires fear and Warpath seems to be in a bad shape! I wouldn't bet on him at first sight!
Really nice DPS with a good '90s vibe. Cable with big guns on each hand! It was a nice run by Churchill and Loeb.
Amazing page! Nice addition to your collection.
Once again, great acquisition. Silvestri was on fire at the time, his duet with Green tight and sharp. One of the finest artistic team on Uncanny X-Men in my humble opinion. And we can clearly see the Reavers on this page!
Nice illustration of Davis' first run on X-Factor: a plot with a lot of fun.
Onslaught is impressive and X-Man seems to be a puppet. Nice work from Thibert to emphasize this rendition.
Very nice commission (or sketch) from Vitti. The guy's nice and humble, had the chance to meet him and share a couple of drinks.
Nice display of power from Magneto. Kubert did produce some of his best work around this time. Matt Ryan's inks contributed a lot.
Très belle pièce. J'avais pu rencontrer Olivier Vatine au milieu des années 1990 et il m'avait fait un joli sketch de l'homme main de Ulla Morgenstern (son nom m'échappe... Fritz? ).
Nice page. I was fond of the "Project Pegasus" storyline and the Byrne - Sinnott duet blew everything, they were at the top of their respective game.
Wasn't it the cover made for a Back Issue Magazine published in May '12 or sometime around? Anyway, a great picture of the big three. A classic author giving a great depiction of them.
Great page with many easter eggs!
I was stunned by the quality level put on the run by the Quesada - Palmiotti tandem. The character took another dimension thanks to their input and Smith's stories.
A great page indeed. It was posted a long time ago and the question asked also a long time ago, but I think the inker is Dan Green for the entire issue.
He, I guess it was the brighter side of the X-Men! It came between the Age of Apocalypse saga and the Onslaught event. A light but pleasant story to read. :)
John Byrne is credited as "inker" as well as "penciler" : http://www.comicvine.com/marvel-two-in-one-death-in-the-everglades/37-18825/ Otherwise I don't have any clue to the inker's ID. A great story, a cool team up involving The Thing with Captain America and Man-Thing, a fantastic story... A story contained in a single issue. I miss those days.
I remmeber this issue, with Wolverine holding on because of his weakness state, he didn't want to pop up his claws. A good story, with a simple storytelling. A fine illustration of Adam Kubert's talent. Congratulations!
The issue may be stocked into a long box! Just kidding. Cam Smith came later to ink. I think he did ink Carlos Pacheco on the Bishop L.S. before working on X-Men. I have to check it out too!
I don't want to be rude, but wasn't Mark Pennington the inker credited for this issue? Correct me if I'm wrong, but Andy Kubert started his run on X-Men with the aforementioned inker. That said, his early work on the x-title was already promising and entertaining. Congratulations for this piece of original art. :)
Excellent!! There's not so much stuff of Cruz running around. And you get your hands on one mythic page from the last issue. I was thrilled with the art on this one shot, and the storytelling was fine. And Magneto kicks Apocalypse's ass... Wonderful.
Pacheco provided some of his best stuff on this limited series. It reminds me of Big John Buscema, John Byrne and George Perez (almost a tribute to these giants! ).
Thanks for your comment. It's a fantastic run, Busiek, Merino and Pacheco did a wonderful job on this limited series (I think that Roy Thomas was also credited for helping Busiek to resolve some unfinished past stories).
A fantastic cover by Skroce. It's weird, but almost on any cover of his run, X-Man was defeated or at the hands of his opponent... Dark Beast, Holocaust, and so on. The most bad-ass mutant beaten!
