I have to agree... that is not ink, but a black enamel paint that he used quite a lot on these hybrid pieces, and the scan is not really able to capture the full and sheer beauty of it, but that was Alberto's idea from the very beginning: these original pieces needed to have something special that could only be fully enjoyed in person

you're absolutely right, I had to specify that the "old" Sienkiewicz for me is related to the very first stories illustrated by him that I remember reading (around the end of the 80s and early 90s) : D
so it was already after his "Neal Adams" phase :)
I was not familiar with the artist, but this is cool... it's giving me vibes of the old Sienkiewicz :)
it all started in the 70s... an incredible path that led Cavazzano to evolve his drawings constantly, up until the "perfection" reached between the 90s and the 00s
while I'm not exactly a huge fan of recreations, in particular if the approach is to be as close as possible to the original piece, I admit that some pieces are so powerful (and at the same time out of reach) that this solution makes perfectly sense... like in this case, it sure is emotional
awesome... for me, this is the best cover of the Infinity Dime book by a non-Disney artist
yes, one of the first things I noticed is how the characters' proportions are much closer to Carl Barks' comics and old cartoons rather than today's... it feels maybe a little bit weird, but doesn't affect the gorgeousness of the piece (for me) :)
I'm not familiar with the artist, but the illustration is excellent... the level of detail is fantastic
