This is the only full splash title page he did. The book covers were taken by a single panel from an interior page. Other title pages weren't full splash ones but always panel pages.
On the back of page there is a note of big John to Tom about 9th panel. He asks Tom to "make it spooky" putting attention on the open eye of the dead rising.
There are two pages of this first story (page 7 and 10) that feature a dark green background of the lettering boxes to exalt the narration. For example the page of the murdering of simon garth by the gardener. The original is drawn like this one but with an overlay made for the printing process. mine too. It's many years that i try to find out pages like this but they were only offered in complete issues, so very expensive. Recently a collector did let go this one from pablo marcos, my favourite artist of this character, and i took a chance.

ah ecco dov'è! che ricordi, quanto ero giovane! Pensa che la vidi appena eseguita ed appena scartata da Decio Canzio quando nel 1991, ma sarà stato proprio inizio anno forse gennaio o febbraio, la offrirono a me. A cambio di una sequenza di fumetti che avevo appena preso e che il venditore della tavola voleva scambiare. Si presentò a casa mia come usuale all'epoca ed io non c'ero ma vide questi fumetti, arrivati da poche settimane e tra le altre tavole proposte c'era anche questa. Lo scambio non si fece perché io preferii tenere i fumetti di quella serie che collezionavo ma per tanti anni questa cover sparì dai radar. Bravo complimenti!
