You know, I've been looking at drawings of Peter Parker for over 40 years and I have to say that this is the very first one I've ever seen that actually seems like he's the same guy with the mask on. Mayhew has captured something subtle in the construction and expression and eyes on that face that for the first time has me looking at Peter Parker and thinking: "yeah, I could totally see that guy pulling on the mask and being that Spider-Man guy". Amazing.
I also wonder how many people "got" the insider Comics Buyers Guide Erik Larsen Joke. (I don't remember when he was outted as "Name withheld"...)
The funniest thing about this cover is that Silvestri is apparently immune to caricature! ;))
34"x44" same size as the original art so it should display with your prelim beautifully. :) It's being done "IDW Artist Edition" style so you'll see unerased blue pencil and such as if it were the original art in your hands, not just a print of the linework. It's printed on Vinyl, which I've never seen, so I don't know what that means, but I suspect the reproduction of the inkwork may be super crisp and rich as a result. (OT: that's been my major disappointment with the IDW Artist Editions; yeah you can see all the white-out, pasteups and pencil marks, but the inkwork is too soft and washed out looking.)
Yes! I have secured a print! Looks like there was a LOT more interest than they expected and they're going to do one last print run based on how many people order in the next few days. Info is on the Facebook page, it will not show up in the webstore. kind of an exclusive for the Art Adams fan group members. :) Thanks for posting this Jonathan, I would've surely missed out on it otherwise!

Wow, nice piece! Wood burning... I used to have a wood burning set as a kid. Right up there with Lawn Darts and Creepy Crawlies as the most dangerous toys devised by man! :))
