DescriptionThis commission piece was done for a new friend of mine who has bid on a few of my Ebay piece and wanted one for himself of Spidey and Venom. I decided to go with something that I had never done before and had Spider-man caught in Venom's web for a change. I always thought those creepy old house spiders that you would see in the corners of your closet or basement were scary as hell when I was a kid, so I thought that would be a perfect fit for Venom to be hiding out in. breaking through the darkness of the night sky and illuminated only by the moon, I thought that to look up and see Venom getting ready to feast on Spidey would be just as scary as those old corner webs used to be when I was little. I also decided to have Spidey channelling his inner Aqua-man and have it look like some spiders are crawling out of the darkness to come to the aid our friendly neighborhood wall crawler. I really hope David likes his commission... It was, by far, the most time consuming 11 X 17 I have done to this point. All of those stars are hand drawn... individually, with a 0.5 mechanical pencil. Then I lay a border around each one so that I don't accidentally color over one of them when filling in the negative space... Then the entire space around them are filled in with a 0.9 mechanical pencil. It was quite time consuming, but I think it added a little more depth than leaving the background white like I had originally done it. It took a lot more time, but I hope David likes it. Thanks for checking it out, and as always, comments (good or bad) are appreciated.Social/Sharing |

Thanks so much guys... Your kind words are humbling, as well as very much appreciated. Being from a small town in North Carolina, I never figured anyone would ever get to see my work... much less like it! Again, I am humbled by the support and kindness I have been shown here on CAF... I hope I can continue to post works that you all will enjoy and appreciate, as much as I have enjoyed getting to know some of you guys. Thanks again... And keep your eyes peeled.. I have only just begun! (... Is that a Carpenter's song?! lol)

Seeing pieces like that Mr. Biggs makes, this "humble penciller" seems very small. You are the master of three-dimensional perspectives and overlapping planes. I have no more than surrender allegiance. My sincere congratulations my friend.
