DescriptionThis is a 20" X 30" commission piece for George in the UK. He wanted a piece depicting Batman taking on some of his deadliest foes in the sanctity of his own Batcave. I really wanted to push the boundaries on this one and create something that he would be proud to hang in his home. I hope I didn't let him down.Just a few of the things going on in this piece. You have Batman (of course) holding the Scarecrow in his hand after a severe beatdown. The Penguin also lays at his feet with top hat in hand (can't let that get damaged) and his umbrella sticking up in the ground beside him. The Riddler looks a little worse for wear (and appears to have lost one of his front teeth in the process) as he dangles high above the rest of the action. (I have to have at least one villain tied to the rafters in every Batman piece I do. Last time in the "Batman Triumphant" piece it was Killer Croc.) I also have the Joker sneaking up beside Batman getting ready to hoist up one of his huge cartoon style mallets... Clay Face is ready to pound on anything he can get his hands on in the background... Scarface is pulling his gun in the immediate foreground... The Mad Hatter sneaks up onto that iconic T-Rex that always seems to hang around the Batcave to get a better view... and Bane has ripped off the bottom jaw of that taxidermy style dinosaur to pummel Batman into the ground with. Also, if you look closely at the Bat-monitors behind all the action you can see that Batman has his eyes on not only Gotham City, but also Killer Croc and a well known citizen of Metropolis! One other little hidden gem is the cowl worn by Michale Keaton in the '89 Batman flick in the glass display tube in front of the T-Rex. I tell you, I went all out on this piece. Now, if the USPS can track down the five (yes FIVE) pieces of art that were shipped on December 12 and have been stuck in "sorting partner facility" limbo ever since... Maybe I can get this piece off and on its way to th UK! Also, on a side note... Two things... I went to the eye doctor on january 5 and was told that my eyes looked 100% better. No more appointments until June! second, the title of this piece can be credited to my youngest step daughter. She saw this piece and quoted "In my own dojo...". I really wasn't sure what that meant, but I saw where it came from the other day on a Spongebob Squarepants cartoon. Sandy attacks Spongebob (in one of their karate battles) in the Krusty Krab... Prompting Spongebob to say "In my own dojo...". Now I get it... and I really thought it fit! Social/Sharing |

I've never been a big Bane fan but, otherwise, this is really cool. Nice job.
