DescriptionOriginal painting done for the cover of Star Wars Shadows of the Empire #5. This is a large, fully-painted piece that is absolutely incredible! I previously had this listed as the published cover, but I was contacted by a fellow collector who said they have the final piece and they thought this was a prelim. I am not sure if it is a prelim, or if it could possibly be an alternate cover, and then Hugh decided to do another piece with slight differences. I had this listed as the final cover not only because of what I was originally told (and what multiple other collectors had seemed to confirm), but given the large size of the piece and the close resemblance to the final cover and heavy paint and detail employed, it definitely did not seem to be a prelim.It is painted on a board that measures approximately 14" by 21 1/2", and the artwork extends fully to all edges, so it's definitely a big and impressive image. Done by the amazing artist Hugh Fleming, the piece showcases one of the most awesome and brutal Luke Skywalker battle images you're ever going to find! Please note that the only minor condition issue I see is a little bit of wear in the corners. If you look closely at the picture you may be able to see that there are small "pinholes" in the corners, and a small (half-inch) edgewear tear at the very top left edge. Otherwise, no major condition issues, and the piece displays very nicely. Also, I listed the media type as acrylic, but I'm not an expert when it comes to painted pieces, so I could be wrong on that. Hugh told me he mostly paints in acrylic, so that's what it most likely is.
