Description

One of the nicest, most talented guys in the biz, TEX has really come a long way from "Space Giants" #1. I remember the very first heroes con I attended, Tex was turning out drop dead gorgeous water color paintings of single character headshots for a mere $35. Mind you this was '94 and my very first con, so I thought this was major bucks but once again, I kick myself for not getting something then. I still vividly see the sabertooth piece he did for the lady standing in front of me, handing it to her, still wet, telling her to be careful. WOW! Anyway, that was then and this is now. I found this piece at BIG WOW comic art and just fell in love. Chocked full of famous cameos and the technique is simply amazing. Tex even told me while signing it, "Hey, that's one of my favorite pages from that issue." Just an highly underrated artist , IMHO. Right up there with Sienkiewicz in my book. Tex, you rock, man.

Beautiful piece. And I agree 100% with your comments about Tex. I really don't collect artwork from more recent times. But, with guys like Tex, I'll make the exception, especially for his great Pantha work, like your page. Great find!
