DescriptionThe name, Bernie Wrightson, is synonymous with the macabre. The man has single handedly changed the world of horror in the last forty years. Standing in the man's presence is so overwhelming, exactly how I invisioned standing beside someone like Frazetta, just a true living legend. The first time I met Wrightson was at a heroes con in '96. I was so excited to finally get to meet him and hopefully purchase a sketch from the legend, but sadly, he said he wouldn't be doing any sketching at that show. Although he signed my copy of "A Look Back" hardback, I was really crushed for years! Fast forward to this past year at heroes con. I had just hit the floor when a friend said, "You have to get over to Bernie's booth now; his wife said it's the first time in years he brought stuff for sale!" My wife purchased this for me as an early birthday present (Yeah, she rocks). John Carpenter's "THE THING" was the last movie I saw at the starlight drive-in, before they shut it down for good. Even snook under the fence of the kid's playground area to see it really close up. What a classic! That movie still looks as fresh today as it did back in '83 (check out the blu-ray). This page also sums up my thoughts when I think of "Bernie Wrightson". The photos really don't do it justice."The pursuit of adulation is your butter and your bread. It's an exquisite corpse and its lips are red And its teeth are glistening." - The Church "LOST" (Starfish) Social/Sharing |

"The Thing", my absolute favorite horror/sci-fi movie of all time! Kurt Russel was awesome, and I can't wait for the remake! Very cool piece by the master!

"The Thing" will always be a great cornerstone in Sci-Fi/Monster movie history! I've not seen too many of Wrightsons sketches for this, but earlier this year I was quick enough on the draw (no pun intended) to pick up his "You gotta be f'in kidding" piece, and you can tell Wrightson to, was a huge fan! Very cool piece, thanks for sharing!
