DescriptionI am becoming more and more attracted to the classics and comic strips from the late 40s and 50s. Actually, not just any strip but once you hold a piece by Raymond, Caniff or Al Williamson, you suddenly realize the amount of work, the precision, the quality and should I say, labor of love that went into many of these "ephemeral" realization. They certainly did not think that crazies like you and me would collect these fragile pieces of paper ;-)I saw that strip on eBay and got very interested when reading the description, I realized that there was also a letter signed by Raymond. Actually, signed twice since there is the classical signature at the top and also his normal signature. How cool is that !! Posting the scans, I just realized that on the back of the envelope, there is also Raymond's signature plus some hand written notes... I need to know more !! Back to the art, just a lovely, perfect example. Delicate and precise, Rip and Honey. The last panel... gorgeous. Funny, on that auction, my wife was checking almost every hour to be sure I had not forget and I would bid. She loves that piece. I think it is in the permanent collection forever and ever ! A lovely example that I was watching on eBay. I suspe ct that the Raymond signature at the top of the letter is a printed letterhead, is it not?
