Description

Yes that Superman. This is the original inked art for the Famous 1st Editions reprint of Superman #1 page 46, originally drawn by Superman creator Joe Shuster and written by Jerry Siegel. Clark Kent is under cover as a miner trying to get the scoop on a corrupt coal mine executive, while trapped in the mine with that executive and others. Looks like the artist inked using a lightbox and lots of white out. The text that was on white backgrounds are stats pasted into position. I was able to obtain a handful of these pages. Never thought that would be possible. This is the same artwork used for the Superman archives #1.

Great Superman piece from '78/'79 when the Christopher Reeve movies were giving DC a huge resurgence in mainstream popularity! These fantastic reprints and recreations of the long lost art were proudly celebrating Superman and the DC legacy.
