| Q: | Which piece in your gallery is your favorite and why? |
| A: | My favorite piece in my Gallery is probably the Kamandi #35 Cover by Joe Kubert. Mainly because it's one of my favorite characters since I was a kid and because it's Joe Kubert and a cover I remember from that childhood. |
| Q: | Please tell us a little about yourself. |
| A: | I am currently a registered nurse living in southern California with my wife and two pitbulls. Prior to that I was an Art Director for Direct Mail Advertising in NYC. |
| Q: | How long have you been collecting comic art and what prompted you to start? |
| A: | My first piece of original art was a Kamandi page that I acquired nearly 30 years ago in a trade for comics. I did not acquire my next original art page until about 1995 and that was at an annual convention just across the New Jersey border in Rockland County. I think it was Ramapo Valley High School or something like that. Every year a good number of old school artists would attend and bring pages for sale at very affordable prices. I still own about 10 pages that I bought from that show over the few years I went there. |
| Q: | How do you display/store your collection at home? |
| A: | I have 9 pieces framed and in a few different rooms in the house, most in the hallway. The rest of my art I have in Itoya portfolios. |
| Q: | What are your top five most wanted original pages or commissions? |
| A: | My grail would be the cover to Superman #260 by Nick Cardy. This was the first comic book I ever owned. I was given it while trick or treating and it kick started my interest in comics. Not sure if the current owner, who is here on CAF, is willing to part with it in the future, but I can hope. My number two would be a Watchmen page. At this time I can't really see paying the prices they are going for so that may not happen. My third is a Jim Aparo Batman cover. My fourth would be a Neal Adams Batman page. Also pretty pricey. And lastly, I, like many other Batman fans, would love to own a Frank Miller Dark Knight page. Probably just another pipe dream. |
