Description

John Celardo was a golden aged regular in comics. I first encountered his work while he worked at Iger Studios through his pages for Jungle comics. He had a very distinctive style. Later when I discovered comic strips there was instant recognition of an old friend. He was a very popular artist on the Tarzan run amongst the fans. This piece comes from the collection of Fred Lukas who is a local collector who knew Celardo well for many decades.

Establishing shot is great and puts the audience right in the jungle heat for Tarzan's big entrance.

Beautiful daily Jeff! I've always had a fondness for Celardo's art and this is a great example of his high level of talent.
