DescriptionSpooktacular add this month o’ Halloween! I’d seen some of Edison’s work on Instagram and decided to request my own commish…and yeah…happy with the result :) 11x17 full bleed fire.When watching the Nic Cage GR flick years back I always through the Sam Elliott Carter Slade character looked cool in GR form with his horse, including the scene where he and Johnny Blaze are riding across the desert. So he’s on my commission idea list but it had to be the right artist. Here we are. Love the figure, including the gun…but the horse. Like I said, fire! The white hot flames, almost glowing, and accentuated with the spatter. The combo of said flames of both the horse and rider just blend for a dynamic image, just bleeding energy, blazing across the horizontal board. And the horse’s ribs showing! So cool. Speaking of the Halloween bent, also got a bit of a Sleepy Hollow Headless Horseman vibe, doesn’t it? I’ll also say that Edison was great and easy to work with! Reminds me of the meme going around with the flaming horse. But this is all fire!

This is fantastic! I really like the forced perspective of his arm and gun, but I especially dig the way he illustrated the burning helfire inside the horse, so white hot that we can see through the muscle and sinew to veiew the shadow of its rib cage! Well done, Kahlil!

The longer I looked at this one the more details shine like the chain that is the bridle. Very nice.

FANTASTIC! Insane energy to this one, starting with the Rider's mount... Hellfire is just bursting out of this thing (of particular bad-assedness is that spectacular mane and tail) and it's not that the horse is see-through so much as that the hellfire in its chest is burning -so- hot and bright that it just shines right -through- the skin... And the Rider itself is amazing, simultaneously holding on for dear life and as comfy as can be (with loose reins, even). His boots are to die for, no doubt, but the barrel of his gun, for my money, is what cost him his soul. :) Wicked, wicked, WICKED cool, K. This thing is unbelievable. Mega-congrats!

That comment about the horse not being transparent but just bursting with hellflame...exactly. Love that about it. And how could you turn your back on THAT gun and THEM boots?! :) Thanks for the add, brutha!

Everything about this is perfect! That inking and those flame effects, wow! I love the ornate skull inlay on the gun. Definitely a spooktacular addition to your awesome collection.

Lol! I immediately pictured Walken with them glasses, that jacket, and in that voice...then a burst of hellfire before mounting his also flame engulfed steed :) Appreciate the chuckle...AND visual, John - thanks!

Definitely has a Headless Horseman vibe; that was my first thought. I also really like the perspective of the gun on this one. This piece is 🔥

Awesome! Like the flame effect used thoughout the piece. I got a commission from Edison not to long ago and been really impressed with his work.

As you note, big Sleepy Hollow vibe with this, but the overall composition and feel of the piece really captures the character. This is a unique commission that makes for one wicked image.
