I commissioned this from Philip at WonderCon this year – he was having a sweet deal for commissions at the show. I’ve gotten a piece from him before (Cloak & Dagger) and really dug it so I thought, “why not another”? I thought Psylocke would be a good choice; I’ve always wanted to get a nice commission done of this character – one of, if not THE, X-woman of the ‘90’s.

I did get on his list a little late for this to get done at the show, but Philip being the nice guy he is, and seeing as I’ve gotten a piece from him before, still gave me the con price even though he’d be taking it home to work on. He also said that he could take a little more time if he took it with him, and man does it show!

Philip’s rep Kirk Dilbeck sent me the finished piece in the mail a couple months later and when I opened the package I was elated. He really knocked this out of the park and I was right about him being a good choice to take this character on. The sword, the background, the hair, the face – all look great. Very vibrant with all of the colors makes it really nice to look at. My 2nd Philip Tan piece – a very strong 2 of 2 so far!

Philip's work just seems to be getting better. A BEAUTIFUL piece. Congrats.
