Just now posting? Awesome starter page. That book is SO Jack Davis. Did you ever ask Jack about Bernie?

Nice and ghouly sweet sixteen! This is great quality and probably exceeds the worth of a car from back then.

Benno I have such love for these masthead illustrations Bernie did in those Warren magazines. In my opinion much of Wrightson's very best work was done in those mags around 1974, and this gem is a perfect example. All the great Warren stories, spot illustrations, and inside covers he did there were just very special.

How does one keep such an amazing page to themselves all of those years?; stunning example of the genius of Wrightson.

I've heard you tell the tale on Felix before and (if i remember right) I love the idea that you opted for this instead of something more "typical" as a gift. And moreover you hung it in your college dorm room!
Pure love.

I framed it immediately(again, my parents paid for that) and though I have reframed it, otherwise it has hung everywhere I've lived for now close to 50 years. Definitely a keeper! 😜

Outstanding Bernie Wrightson splash! Love seeing Uncle Creepy as a candle with the wax melting down his forehead. Wrightson was so good at knowing just what scenes would creep us out. And then bringing them to life...or death.
