DescriptionOf the pieces that I consider a Grail acquired at SDCC 2009, this is the grail of all grails for me. When I saw this cover, I really enjoyed the dichotomy presented of Superboy's two dads with Conner flying in between. Thanks to Shawn for helping me get this beauty and it was a coup to pick this up at SDCC 2009 and chat with Francis and Agnes. The biggest surprise was that this cover came in two parts so I got both and it was cool to discuss his process with creating this cover. I was also able to show this cover to Geoff and get it signed by him as well.Really, this is a great time to be a Superboy fan and I am happy Geoff Johns has loved and respected the potential this character has for great, future stories. Like I have said before, much of Superman lore came from the early Superboy stories and there should be a Superboy in the DC Universe. I was happy to ask a question for the first time in SDCC at the Francis Manapul panel because I feel that the art and words presented in this issue out today will move people. I felt lucky to see the art for the rest of the issue and as I write this a mere one hour and a half until my comic shop opens, I am waiting eagerly to read the words. Without words, this issue already rings some high emotional notes with me...I just can't wait to get to the comic shop to read the start of Conner's new adventures. Thanks to Geoff and Francis and Long Live your Time on Adventure...We are happy to take that fun, exciting journey with you guys !!! Social/Sharing |

An iconic image, and a nice piece of comic art history. Congratulations! (just saw the gorgeous color printed cover -- it'll help make the book a sell-out, I predict)

I echo the thoughts that have been expressed - this cover couldn't be in a better home indeed. Congrats on such a special cover indeed! Thanks so much for sharing not only the cover...but the kind story behind it.

I originally wanted to say that this cover could not have found a better home, but it has already been said. So I'll just add that the experience behind getting the cover makes it all the more special - especially for a collector like you who is a TRUE Superboy fan. Congratulations.
