DescriptionNever mind that the secret missile installation has a field of missiles in plain sight ... Godzilla is about to blow up this (not so) secret nuclear base if he isn't stopped!I can't remember the first issue of Godzilla that I bought, but it was right in this era. I was absolutely fascinated with this comic, especially this issue with Red Ronin (and any Shogun Warriors). Herb Trimpe's art really worked for this series and I loved how he drew Big G. How can you not like the outstretched hand in the middle page panel? Finally tracked down a nice Trimpe Godzilla page and I am hoping for more, along with some Shogun Warriors pages. Feel free to reach out if you have any. Thanks to Albert for a perfect transaction. Social/Sharing |

You have to read on and find out if Dum Dum Dugan calling on Jimmy Woo and Stark Enterprises are able to mobilize the Red Ronin in time to prevent a potential holocaust!

The wonderous absurdity of that last panel always made me smile. Glad this page is in good hands.

Congrats, Dave! WWIII?! Stakes never been higher! Timely posting, too, with the new movie. My kid's fallen in love with the big electro lizard and I'm eyeing a piece for him myself :)

Gorgeous work by Herb Trimpe for Godzilla, King of Monsters! I don't know how many artists could handle an assignment of this size. How do you tell stories about a monster that's as big as a skyscraper? Well, Herb Trimpe knew how to do it. On this page, we see the soldiers trying to stop the raging Godzilla from reaching the Nuclear Missiles! OMG! Love the scene of the scientist warning the soldiers of the danger of the monster's rampage. That middle panel with the man's outstretched hand is awesome. And that final panel with Godzilla approaching the nuclear missles is downright frightening. Kudos to you for picking up this fabulous page of Herb Trimpe brilliance.

One of my first comic books I started getting regularly was the Trimpe Godzilla in the late 70s. Awesome page!
