DescriptionIn late 2016 one of my favorite artists, Ryan Stegman, launched the Amazing Spider-Man: Renew your Vows ongoing series (check out Ryan’s covers to issues 1 and 7 in my gallery!) and Nate Stockman jumped in for a fill-in on issue 5. Was a fun and nice looking issue and I really liked the splash where Spidey and the Sandman meet. So, I reached out to Ryan to see if he could connect me with Nate, who’s in Ireland, about inquiring about it. He did, I did, and here ‘tis!I love the Spidey rogues gallery and the Sandman is no exception. Due to the nature of his powers artists can have some fun crafting their own renditions and Nate definitely had his here. Really like how big the hands are and how the sand is swirling around them and the rest of the figure to show movement. And the illustration goes all the way to the edges of the 11x17 board - no space spared. I included the published page, too, as the colors add a real pop to the image. The battle is imminent as a charging Sandman almost gets the drop on our hero – love seeing that kind of storytelling in a splash page! I've been spreading the good word about Nate for a long time now, and I'm so glad he's had such success the past couple years. This page is awesome! Congrats!

Good call, Travis, and I’m right there with you as far as his recent success! Iceman #1 just came out yesterday - I haven’t seen it yet but absolutely plan on picking it up! Thanks, all, for the comments!

I would, F M. It's more of a family oriented book if you're good with that but what's cool IMO is it happens outside of MU proper continuity, so the creators can take more liberties and have a little more fun with it without being concerned with how it ties into the rest of the MU. What I dug most, though, was Ryan and Nick's art :) Thanks for the add!

What an incredible image! I'm a huge fan of Sandman as well, and I love his HUGE hand coming at Spidey. It's like the hand is about to come bursting off the page. Congrats!
