DescriptionStill thinking about Stan Lee’s passing a bit so decided to post another piece that reminds me of him. This time less to do with his hand in creating characters, Spidey and Iceman here, but more due to his narration contributions for THE Spider-Man show of my childhood, Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends! Comics were my gateway drug into Spidey but this show also had a part in him becoming my favorite character. Doesn’t hold up as well now but man is the nostalgia factor ramped up when I see that intro (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgN0g4vqYMg)! My first jam piece was of these 3 but I hadn’t picked up a published piece featuring them so I’m glad to have done that!I picked this page up, among a couple of others, directly from artist Nate Stockman who’s currently drawing the Iceman series. Got a nice Spidey vs. Sandman splash earlier this year but also wanted a panel page and this was perfect. The Spider-Friends (yup, a bit corny, but that’s what they called themselves on the show) up against a big ice monster – couldn’t help but think how they were up against a big fire monster in the show’s intro! Like the pose of the little Spidey in the first panel but the second one is what sealed it for me as all 3 are prominently featured against the bad guy. Just a fun page that takes me back! Thanks, Nate! Social/Sharing |

I've been singing Nat's praises for years and will continue to do so. His dynamic storytelling abilities are a wonder to behold.

Not sure how I missed this one. Love the classic cast. The panel layouts are cool - but especially Love the action. Congrats
