DescriptionOne of 2 splashes I’m posting today featuring a founding X-Men member in Iceman! Always been a fan of the character since watching Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends as a kid, and growing up reading comics, I liked how different artists could take some license with his look and really put their own unique spin on him. Here I’ve got one of my newer favorite artists, Nate Stockman’s, rendition.I’ve got a couple of other pieces here on CAF by Nate (check ‘em out if you get sec) and always think he’s just got a FUN quality to his work. A lighter feel, and cartoony, accentuated by bright coloring. Here, I like the way he’s busting through the door and how his ice slide is breaking the bottom of the panel border – in general I love that technique in layouts. Makes you feel the impact is so big that the one panel cannot hope to contain it :) I also like Nate’s lines here and where he went thinner/thicker in highlighting the slick/shiny texture of Bobby’s ice form. Having fellow “icy” character Emma Frost charging alongside is a nice bonus. Thanks for looking, fellow collectors, and as we know it’s crazy times out there right now you all stay safe! Sweet Iceman piece! I grew up watching Spidey and his Amazing Friends too! Congrats!

I agree, Iceman lends himself nicely to being personalized by each artist who draws him. I really like Neil's take on the character, and the fun he has with the ice slide! The colorized page is really beautiful.

Thanks, Paul, and all for the comments! And good call out on the coloring - some color jobs can accentuate and highlight the artists' skill, some jobs can inadvertently take away. This is definitely in the former category!

Wow. Great Iceman image. He is making me want to hit the gym though. Dude has some jacked calves.
