Sorry for posting this, because it is not original art.... but I thought I should share this with anyone interested. I just picked this up on ebay for $13.50 including postage. It is Bud Fisher's first book reprinting a number of his strips. The copyright is 1908, and the book was published in 1910.... Not a typo... 1910. This collection is more than 105 years old. It's not in great shape, but it is complete with all pages. I just thought somebody should rescue it before it ended up in a landfill.

If you are unfamiliar with Mutt and Jeff strips -- From the Wikipedia page:

Mutt and Jeff was a long-running and widely popular American newspaper comic strip created by cartoonist Bud Fisher in 1907 about "two mismatched tinhorns". Historians regard Mutt and Jeff, originally titled A. Mutt, as the first American newspaper cartoon published as a strip of panels, as opposed to a single panel, making it the first "comic strip" to successfully pioneer that since-common format.

The "Mutt and Jeff" comic strip remained in syndication until 1983.

That's for sure George! Sometimes I buy things to rescue them, and then pass them along as gifts to people. I did that with a bunch of Winnie Winkle strips and Mike Nomad strips a few years ago. Nice work by Frank Bolle and Fran Matera that weren't getting any love. Go figure....
