DescriptionNever thought I’d pick up such a nice Neal Adams original. I got this at last year’s Wizard World Austin. Neal sponsored an auction to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, with 50% of the winnings going to the hospital and 50% to the artist. This awesome rendition of Wonder Woman was Neal’s contribution to the event. This piece is 16 x 20, so pretty big. In the main image a little of the left is cut off – you can see the difference in the framed pic I’ve included. None of the actual character is cut off. I didn’t scan this as I only have an 11 x 17 scanner so instead took a high res photo. I wanted to make sure I got as much of the detail as possible though, so my fellow CAFers could appreciate almost as much as I can (can’t beat looking at it in person)! This is a true mixed media piece – it’s done on textured canson paper with Neal using watercolor, tempera, marker, and airbrush. Gives the piece a nice sense of depth/texture while still having that animated, comic art look. The colors look great, and you’ve gotta love that look on the Princess’s face. Needless to say, I’m very happy to have this great piece, done by one of most important creators in comics, grace my wall. It’s also very nice knowing that some of the proceeds have gone to a good cause. Thanks, Neal, for the piece as well as putting on the event! Social/Sharing |

Wow! This must have cost a pretty penny! Thanks all for the comments, and yeah Tim, wasn't my most inexpensive piece but I'd say well worth it, and neat to know some of it when to charity.
