Description

Gonna go with posting a few comic art pieces from non-comic properties, starting with the DeLorean from Back to the Future, one of my all-time favorite movies! Done by dynamic artist Ricardo Lopez Ortiz – I was all about seeing and subsequently nabbing his take on the time machine! “If you’re gonna build a time machine, why not do it with some style?!”

I mean, how fun is this?! Screeching towards the viewer, and starting to spark, just hitting 88 miles per hour! Love the overall energy, and I thought I might also want to see it colored. So, a first for me, I got it digitally colored by Simon Gough – see in additional images! Thanks, fellow CAFer, Travis Ellisor, for referring me! Suh-weet having it alongside the B&W art.

Also see my die-cast DeLorean from Back to the Future III in additional images :) As I write this, I think I’m going to get the newer large Lego set. Saw it recently at a store and hasn’t left my mind, lol. Especially seeing my son work on one of his sets right now…yeah…OK…I’m off to it!

9/5/23 UPDATE - Well I did end up getting the Lego set and put it together with my son :) See in additional images. You can go with the DeLorean version from Back to the Future I, II, or III; we decided to go with II for now. Displays well with the hover look! So cool that the wheels flip up :)

Oh hells yes!  To leave in the box...to take out of the box...never easy for us...connoissuers :)  But it seems like you've made your decision.  Or have you?  Made your decision.  For now?!  ;)

Thanks, Troy, and all, for the comments!

Where they at? Where they at?
Where they at? Where they at?
Where they at? Where they at?
Where they at? Where they at? (Come on, now)

If you want the art then take a ride with me
We 3-wheeling in the fo' with the KG
Oh, why do I eighty eight? (Hey, must be the Ortiz)
If you riding low then go drive Marty
Ego L in the brick of build for me
Oh, why must I feel this page? (Hey, must be for Marty)

In the Flux on the late night, Emmit’s right
Biff is trying to spot Lorraine, real nice
Drawing by Ricardo Ortiz
I noticed some artwork commission (I can take home)
He can time machine (machine) with an attitude
Simon will color for me, acting real cool
But as long as you a thicky-thicky-thick road
You know that time's wrong (you know that it's on)

I peep Tannen coming towards me on the dance floor
Eric Stoltz must go
Saying he was peeping McFly on the branch he fell of
"So when Marty, can we go?" How could I tell Fox no?
Art measurements were 11-17-thin art core
"I like the way ink brush right here
And I like the lifeguard coat you wear
I like the way the light hit the nice fenders
And I can see your mom, from way hover there"

Ha ha, yes!  So many tidbits in this one, man.  Nice touch with the "Ego L in the brick of build for me"  :)  Cle-ver!  And outside of the image, artist, description...you threw in Eric Stoltz, lol!  Bravo, man!  "When you put your mind to something, you can accomplish anything!"  :)  Thanks!

"I didn't invent the time machine for financial gain!  The intent here is to gain a clearer perception of humanity".

Well, it wouldn't be financial, right?  "Personal gain", that's OK, I think!  :)

Thanks for the add, Johnny!

Always loved the movie series. Dreamed of having a hoverboard as a kid. I would have totally been a chick magnet on my hoverboard lol. Very dynamic and nostalgic. Really loved the color with it as well. Congrats!

Oh, dude, a hoverboard?!  Absolutely!  Especially on your end, being a skater!  Yeah, that was SO cool to see in Back to the Future II, as well as those self lace Nikes :)  And pizza hydrating, lol.  Those flicks have so many nuggets that are seared in my brain!  Thanks for the add, Ian!
