Description

For sure, there's no substitute for the real thing...that's the name of the story and appropriate for the serendipity in meeting the great Ken Steacy. My first time in Toronto at Fan Expo 2009 Ken and his family were humbly between Ivan Reis and Mike Deodato....It was the last day of the con and I was just leisurely looking in his portfolio and found this beauty. He had sold it once before and the previous owner had passed away and he was selling it for the family....We talked about medicine and politics and really had a good time chatting and although I spent all my good money by the last day, Ken held it for me b/c he wanted it to go to a good Legion fan .....I love this cover...it has one of my fav legionnaires (Cos) and of course, the Subs....but after over twenty years...it still looks so fresh and crisp....and hasn't really aged at all....Thanks again Ken !!!

Ken was a great artist in the 80's. What ever happened to him??

Magnificant.this story and that cover art lifted the subs out of been a punchline joke. Great behind the scenes story.
