DescriptionWhen I noticed that Mr. Dooney was creating 1887 themed art pieces... immediately I knew I had to get in on the fun. There are so many beautiful ones here on CAF!!! I wasn't sure if Mr. Dooney would want to tackle Red. I mean, 1887 would be a step forward for her, not a step backward if you think about the timeline. Luckily, he was a fan of the Warrior Queen and in two weeks, I had this outstanding beauty!! The details are just incredible. More than, actually. So many thanks, Mr. Dooney! I know that this couldn't have been easy to pull together but you did a magnificent job! :) Social/Sharing |

This is just fantastic! Sonja turned out to be the perfect subject of one of Mr. Dooney's 1887 pieces! This one might be my favorite of the whole series he's done (so classic how he put in the sword and the dagger into her parasol and garter--not to mention her necklace!)! Congrats on scoring a great piece, Holly!!! :D

Mr. Dooney didn't hold back at all and I'm still on such a high about this piece. Who could blame me, right? :D

Great commission by Michael, love how she's wearing the blades and coins. Even has a knife against her thigh, and a special handle on her umbrella - very Sonja-like! Thanks for posting!

Thanks for posting! Thanks Anthony. :) My favourite part is the dagger against her thigh. It was the one idea I gave Mr. Dooney and I'm so glad that he liked it enough to use it.

Adventures?... I keep thinking that they would be a cross between League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and 3 Musketeers. ;)

There also is the matter who to choose. I'm not a Marvel guy so I'm leaning toward Starfire, Donna Troy, or maybe Dove. I am a Titans fan.

That's really an amazing score, Holly! And I must admit: she's just the kind of girl to whom I would happily succumb... ;-) Also, thank you so much for your always brilliant comments and thoughts about my pieces!

I love this idea. Great commission!Thank you! I do have to say that this still blows me away. I mean, I love Red but had no idea how Mr. Dooney would pull it off for his 1887 theme. It really pays to take chances. :)

Red Sonja with bustier and parasol, still clutching a sword handle and with little daggers adorning her neckline... She has aged gracefully into the Victorian period. Very cool...
