Description

This is another one of the kind of Bill Ward cartoon that I really like. It is 18" by 18" on a 20" by 23" board, very thin paper. The board has publisher's notes which I can't decipher. The publisher obviously decided to cut off the published version at the vertical strip. No clue as to what the joke was. Ward used this kind of brown paper to enable him to put in dramatic highlights in white. Ward usually used conte crayon on these really big pieces. Crayon is not one of the choices, so I'm calling it mixed media. Ward sure had an eye for idealized female anatomy.

Now that I think about it, you're right. Humorama usually wasn't so restrained in presenting its jokes though. Yowza indeed.
