DescriptionMail Pouch Tobacco was a huge company in America from 1892 - 1992, with it's peak in popularitycoming in the 1960's. I'm including this here because the artist is the great Jerome Rozen, famous as one of the finest Pulp cover artists of the era! He could do every genre the Pulps had to offer and his work is highly sought after. He actually painted the 1st four covers of The Shadow before handing the chores over to his brother George. Jerome Rozen ultimately left the Pulps to become a very successful artist in the advertising world. His work appeared for companies such as Schlitz Beer, Shell Gasoline, many others... and Mail Pouch Tobacco! He had an exclusive with Mail Pouch for 20 years. This art was likely not only an advertisement, but an in-store Standee as well. This color-test painted prelim is particularly cool as it features their popular character 'King Xerxes'! Rozen also painted many famous patriotic posters during WWII before ultimately returning to the Pulps. This amazing painting is circa 1930's and the image size measures 8.7 X 14 As a bonus I've included an image of the 'published' cardboard Standee! Social/Sharing |

Mail Pouch Great Wall of China in the google machine! This looks really cool to be a prelim of it as they introduced exotic lands like a travelogue series.

Holy Cow! Great minds think alike. I never had the time to do a deep dive into research. I just know what I know, and that's in my description. BUT while you were making your great comment... I found one of these Standees on eBay!
Awesome!
