DescriptionNEW IMPORTANT BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION ON THIS ART:Over all these years I've owned this art, I've been asked NUMEROUS times by art and gaming collectors if this art was used for the game box. Having no knowledge of this, I never represented it as such. But thanks to the miracle of the internet (and the reach of CAF)... I have an announcement to make! In July of this year (2023) I was contacted by the very designer and developer of this game who worked at Sunsoft! In a series of emails he confirmed that this art was actually the image produced for the box!!!! So this one is indeed special not only for original art and animation cel collectors, but to gamers and game collectors as well. Now there is still some small differences between the cel and what appears on the box. (particularly the fork) I believe that to be explained in a way that comic art collectors understand. As we all know, inkers... especially the good ones... will correct/change things in the penciled art they get to work on. I believe this last step on the part of the "game box" people explains any remaining discrepancies that can't be explained by the fluidness of the various cel motion itself. BELOW IS MY ORIGINAL DESCRPTION: This is one of my favorite pieces! I love the Road Runner cartoons. But if you notice... the cartoons are dominated by Wile E. Coyote! He's planning this, building that... he's on screen 95% of the time. The Road Runner swoops in, stops for a second, maybe eats some feed, then "meep meep"... he's gone! Wile E. is left alone, frustrated, or worse. And if you are a collector of vintage 1950's Warner Bros Production cels, you also know that Road Runner cels are even more rare than any other because his neck is so thin, the paint often chips off. What you're looking at is a key hand painted Production Cel from a 1992 video game television commercial produced by Warner Bros for the video game, "Death Valley Rally". I've included the main picture, a more close up photo, a scan of a magazine ad featuring the art, and the certificate of authenticity. I virtually never include the cert of auth in my gallery, but this one is so rare for the animation world, I thought it would be a good idea. Enjoy! Social/Sharing |
